Hesperia Recreation and Park District offers a Rodeo Queen program which young ladies can sign up to compete for a chance to win the Hesperia Recreation and Park District Rodeo Queen title and learn about the great sport of rodeo, the Hesperia Recreation and Park District, study equine knowledge and learn about many of the wonderful equestrian activities that the High Desert has to offer. The young ladies participating in the program will learn and/or touch up on their horsemanship skills at practices held throughout the two months up into the day of the Contest. There will be several different categories of the co test these young ladies will have to compete for to win the Hesperia Recreation and Park District Rodeo Queen Title..
REGISTRATION: March 3, 2008 - April 30, 2008
HORSEMANSHIP – Reining pattern, Grand Entry
Wave, Flag Carrying and a Barrel pattern.
STAGE – Poise and Personality, Stage walk and appearance, Impromptu questions and a 3-4 minute
speech.
PETITE: 12 years of age and under
JUNIOR: 13 – 17 years of age
SENIOR: 18 – 23 years of age
There is a $50.00 non-resident fee.
All programs, events, dates, and fees are subject to change.
Activities are held at the Val Shearer Equestrian Center, Lime Street Park, Hesperia Lake Equestrian Camp and the Percy Bakker Community Center. For more information, please call:

Hesperia Recreation and Park District offers equestrian events through the volunteer efforts of the Hesperia Horsemen. Activities are held at the Val Shearer Equestrian Center, Lime Street Park.
OPEN HORSE SHOW
First Saturday of each month for the following months: May, June, August & October. All Shows will be double points and double judged. October’s show will be a wild card show. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
FEE: All day fee - $80.00* Class fee - $9.00 Drug fee - $5.00 * Day fee - $5.00 Warm up fee - $5.00 * Grounds fee - $5.00
Schooling and warm up classes will be provided. For more information about the 2008 Open Show season, call the Lime Street Park Community Center Office.

| HESPERIA HORSEMAN GYMKHANA TO HOST JACKPOT BUCKLE SERIES |
The Hesperia Horsemen, sponsored by Hesperia
Recreation and Park District, will host a Jackpot
buckle series in March on the following dates:
5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th at the Val Shearer
Equestrian Center, Lime Street Park, 16292 Lime
Street, Hesperia. Time only will be held from
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with barrel races starting at 7:00
p.m. Fees: Time Only fee, $5.00 per run;
Jackpot fee, $35.00 per run; Grounds
fee, $5.00. Barrel race event will be
4D with a 70% payout. For
