Seniors With Inquiring Minds (S.W.I.M.)
Seniors With Inquiring Minds (S.W.I.M.) is a Learning in Retirement program that meets every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Percy Bakker Community Center. It was founded in 1993 by seniors who wanted to keep their minds active and alert. S.W.I.M. stands out because it creates its own programs or invites interesting speakers from the community rather than depending on classes at the local college.
Quilt Guild
Join the Desert Winds Quilt Guild on the first Tuesday of every month. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. Attendees can learn how to make a quilt and teach others. Each session includes lessons, a raffle, food, and fellowship.
Garden Club
The Hesperia Garden Club is dedicated to promoting and developing all aspects of gardening, including fruits, vegetables, trees, and flowers. Our mission is to enhance and beautify the community and to exchange information and ideas with fellow gardeners. We have a variety of activities throughout the year, such as the Home and Garden Show, field trips, and presentations at our club meetings. Please join us on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 1:00 p.m.
